Castor & Pollux - A Dance for the Twin
Rhythms of Gemini (1931-1933)
(Omitted on this edition: The first three sections of Castor; the fourth [tutti] begins the record)
Ring Around The Moon
Even Wild Horses - Dance Music for an Absent Drama (excerpts)
On all of the above:
The Gate 5 Ensemble of Sausalito, conducted by Horace Schwartz
Cover illustration by Gordon Onslow-Ford
Additional Notes: This edition was the first 33 1/3 RPM LP that Partch produced, and he had hoped to include the works in their entirety. After the notes for the back cover had been printed (listing all movements intact), the omissions had to be 'crossed-out' in red ink, and there was printed, on the bottom of the jacket, the following:
* Deleted as a sacrificial offering to the jealous gods of technology.
Finally, this disk had (has) the undeniably lovely sonic and visual qualities that only come on green unbreakable vinylite.
